General Studio & Order FAQs
Where are you located?
We are located at 1735 N Western Ave in the Bucktown neighborhood of Chicago.
You can find us south of the 606 Trail and across the street from the popular restaurant Wolf and Co..
Is parking available?
Yes. And it’s free!
There is free parking directly in front of the studio, plus free street parking on nearby side streets including St. Paul and Wabansia.
Is the studio kid-friendly?
Yes.
Claremont Stitch is a creative, welcoming space in Bucktown. Families are welcome — just keep in mind embroidery machines are running and children must be supervised.
What is your turnaround time?
Turnaround depends on season and volume, but most custom embroidery orders are completed within 2–3 weeks. Depending on capacity and design, sometimes we can do it while you wait.
August through December is our busiest season, and timing may extend during peak months.
Rush options (when available):
- $25 per item – moved to the front of the queue (typically 2–4 business days)
- $75 per item – same-day or after-hours service (subject to availability)
All orders are processed in the order they are received.
If you’re working with a deadline, please reach out and let us know before placing your order.
How much does custom embroidery cost?
Items purchased in-studio at our Bucktown embroidery location come with one free design, name, or monogram. Add-on designs start at $5. Pricing for additional designs vary depending on size, stitch count, design and fabric complexity, and placement.
Can I see a preview before you stitch my item?
Yes.
We offer a digital mock-up option for $3 per design so you can see the design before it is stitched.
Once approved, we move into production.
Can I watch my item being embroidered?
Yes, and we encourage it.
One of the best parts of visiting our Bucktown embroidery studio is seeing the process happen in real time. If you're in the studio while your piece is being stitched, you're welcome to watch the magic.
Do you offer bulk orders?
Yes.
We regularly create custom embroidery for teams, small businesses, events, gifts, and group orders throughout Chicago.
Pricing depends on quantity and design complexity. Contact us for a custom quote.
Are personalized items returnable?
No.
Because personalized pieces are made specifically for you, they are final sale and not eligible for return or exchange.
If we make an error, we’ll absolutely make it right.
Can I change my order after placing it?
If you need to make a change, contact us within 2 hours of placing your order.
After that point, your item is likely already in production and cannot be modified or canceled.

Do you offer gift wrapping?
Yes.
We’re happy to gift wrap your item. Just let us know at checkout or send us a message after placing your order.
Do you offer local pick-up in Chicago?
Yes.

Select Local Pick-Up at checkout. You’ll receive a notification when your order is ready. We recommend texting ahead (312-569-9444) to coordinate timing.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept:
- Credit cards
- Apple Pay
We do not accept cash at the studio.
I ordered online, how long do personalized items take to ship?
All personalized items are made to order at our Chicago embroidery studio.
Production timing varies by season. If you’re pressed for time, please ask before placing your order so we can confirm availability or discuss rush options.
Good embroidery takes time, and we promise it’s worth it.
My tracking says delivered, but I didn’t receive my package.
If a carrier marks your package as delivered, responsibility shifts to the carrier.
You will need to file a claim directly with the shipping provider. We are unable to reship or refund orders confirmed as delivered.
We always recommend shipping to a secure address whenever possible.
I ordered something without personalization. When will it ship?
If your order includes both personalized and non-personalized items, everything ships together once complete.
If your item does not require embroidery, we’ll ship it as quickly as possible.
Customer-Provided Item FAQs
Embroidery on Your Own Items
Do you embroider on customer-provided items?
Yes.
To get started:
- Book an in-studio appointment in Bucktown
- Or text us a photo or link to your item at 312-569-9444
We’ll review placement, sizing, and pricing before anything is stitched.
Items can be dropped off or shipped directly to the studio, then picked up locally or shipped back to you at actual shipping cost.
During peak season, we reserve the right to temporarily pause accepting outside items to focus on in-studio orders.
How much does custom embroidery cost?
Pricing depends on size, stitch count, design complexity, fabric type, and placement.
Custom embroidery for a customer-provided item starts at $20.
Items purchased in-studio at our Bucktown embroidery shop are typically the best value since design preparation is included in the price.
Customer-provided items require additional setup time, which is reflected in pricing.
Bulk pricing is available for teams, businesses, and group orders. Please contact us with details.
I have an idea for a design but no photo. Can you help design something?
Absolutely.
We love bringing new ideas to life. Custom design work usually starts at $75 and is priced based on complexity and time involved.
I have a logo. Can you embroider it?
Yes.
Logos require a one-time set-up fee of $40.
Standard image files (.jpg, .png) must be converted into embroidery files before stitching. Once created, the file is yours and can be reused for future orders.
I saw a design online. Can you stitch it?
In most cases, yes.
If the design is legally available for purchase, we can acquire the embroidery file and stitch it for you.
Can you remove existing embroidery and replace it?
No.
We do not offer stitch removal or embroidery alteration services currently.
Are there items you won’t embroider?
We do not accept:
- Items that require seam removal to access the embroidery area
- Fabrics that are not suitable for machine embroidery.
- Extremely tight or small pockets: If embroidery closes a pocket, we will confirm with you before proceeding.
- Very narrow Christmas stockings.
- Items that require existing embroidery stitch removal
We reserve the right to decline stitching designs that are offensive or inappropriate or illegal.
Our maximum embroidery area is 14” x 12”
What happens if my item is damaged during embroidery?
If a machine or human error occurs, we will reimburse up to $40 for the cost of the item.
Please do not provide irreplaceable or sentimental pieces.
